Karen Remetis - Lead Consultant
Karen is an urban geographer and has 25 years as a consultant in economic development known for results in towns and city centre economic improvement. Karen has worked with small towns and cities to gain a shared vision and strategy and has many references for her work.
Karen has served as a Director on the Board of the International Downtown Association, Washington DC and is contributing author to Business Improvement Districts 2nd Ed. published by the Urban Land Institute, Washington DC.
Lead consultant on the Greymouth CBD Redevelopment Plan.
The inter-governmental Tamaki Transformation Project which was a regional social and economic development strategy incorporating five government Ministries. Regional tourism strategy for King Country. A study, development and implementation with Ifor Ffowcs-Williams of the successful Counties/Manukau Sporthorse Cluster. Regional labour market development for the Thoroughbred sector (Waikato). In May 2010 Karen conceptualised and gained support from the Ministry of Civil Defence to complete a national survey of town and city centres with regard to the effects of earthquakes and climate change on our urban centres and how BIDs can meet those challenges. Christchurch was one of the centres surveyed.
